Fun article that I think any parent can relate to... I never knew you went to Little League camp, no wonder were doing so well at stick ball

Thanks for the memories! As a 12 year old I was the starting pitcher in the championship game in which the winner would go to Gastonia, NC to represent Jackson, MS in the regionals.

All went well until Lester Bourne, who I later played high school and American Legion ball with, hit a run home run thus destroying our chances to advance further in our quest to go to Williamsport. At last report NASA reported the ball has never come down and is in orbit around the earth! What a shot, and what a painful night that was.

I loved it! As a writer, I really enjoy stories like this, about human interest stories that don't necessarily get huge headlines (yes, I saw the front page of the local newspaper). Keep them coming, Roy!

Roy, Thank you for this great tribute to Little League Baseball. I was the chief umpire in my town for over 20 years. And 10 years later I was drafted to do all championship games. A labor of love.
