Unlike your critique of my acting ability(inside joke!) I do believe you have a solid future as a writer! Your article ALMOST made me want to visit Abilene, Kansas!
I could have spent my entire life not knowing the location of Abilene KS. But no; you had to write an engaging post about the town. I checked the map (it's so far away from anywhere else) and some pictures of the town (not much there).....But noting that Wild Bill HIckok roamed that area caught my fancy. Thanks for bringing me into the wild and wooly world of Abilene KS.
Great story. I did not know nearly everything in it. "At that rate...driving around for a few hours." That is very funny. My old friend Jim Lee used to go with Casey and Yogi and Whitey et.al. to the track on the St. Pete side of Gandy bridge back in the day.
That was one fascinating post. One of your best. Every reader knew nothing about Abilene KS before that post.
BTW…I always read down to the bottom…even the copyright.
