Bronco, another great trip down memory lane. We grew up watching and enjoying all of those shows. Rarely stressed out. Now we get the MAGA President and the trumpets. Wow ! How times have changed. Thanks for the memories.
Fantastic! As a child of the ‘60’s and ‘70’s, when it was standard practice to plop the kids in front of the TV, these shows were the makeup of my childhood. While you didn’t cover it, I remember Gillian’s Island came on a 5:30 pm and we had it on the TV while my sister and I ate dinner (mom ate with dad after he got home from work). And she’d always say “this is a repeat! You’ve seen this one!” And we’d respond “NA AH!!” Love the simple times.
Good one as always, Scribe! Thanks for a trip down memory lane. There are so, so many from our younger days. The one I always looked forward to was "Dangerous Assignment," with Brian Donlevy. It ran from 1949-1953. I loved the knife hitting the lamp post during the introduction. Cheers.
I'm sitting here under the cone of silence reminiscing. If I'm not mistaken Addams was also the famed voice of Tennessee Tuxedo. Now as far as Tom Poston, I always had a childhood crush on his wife, the absolutely gorgeous Suzanne Pleshette!
Fred Gynne was also a fantastic Shakespearean actor taking parts in some of Joseph Papp's productions
The mention of Tammy Grimes takes me back to my acting days doing a show called Molly with her..oh to be young again. One day we were sitting around in the Green Room, I distinctly remember it was Tammy, myself, Pierre Epstein and Jimmy Tolkan.. Jimmy always remembered for his line in Back to the Future, "McFly your nothing but a slacker". As we were chatting I noticed a gentleman standing by the exit. Asking Pierre later who that was he told me that it was Tammy s ex who was always a jealous guy. When I found out that gentleman was Christopher Plummer I said to myself.. what a crazy profession I'm in.
Roy, Always a pleasure. Thanks for never disappointing us. Several of those shows will live on in our memories as important to our childhood and upbringing. I look forward to you recapturing those that you did not have time to rediscover this time. Stay well.
Another great trip down Memory Lane! I used to take high school dates to tapings of the Ed Sullivan show. And met Rod Seeling the year before he died...he was teaching a class at Ithaca College, where he showed an episode of Night Gallery. The man could inhale a cigarette like no one else. A great talent that we lost too soon. I look forward to the next installment! Nicely researched
Thank you for the trip down memory lane Roy! I loved all of those shows. Please do some more!!
You made my day with the additional info on the shows.

Loved most of these shows + the cartoons on Saturday.

Who knew you had dates in high school? Wasn’t Rod Seiling a defenseman on the Rangers? And good morning.
