Ruth Ann and I are well thank you. How's everyone out there? We were in Vegas three weeks ago but only for a very full day. Ruth Ann's friends wanted us to see their favorite cover band at the Southpoint..a white Australian Motown Harmony Quartet. Boring but we were at our best behavior for politeness. Knicks are undefeated in May! I don't want to curse. I'll need some prayers as on June 15th I get my right pointer finger amputated. Stay well Boss
What's My Line was on Sunday nights very late. Definitely the greatest game show. The guys on the panel were dressed in tuxedos and the women in evening gowns. The conversations were super intelligent and Arlene Francis was gorgeous and loved talking about good looking guys and cocktails. Dorothy Kilgalens death is still a mystery since she announced she had the evidence in the Kennedy assassination. Bennett Serf and John Daleys intellectual teasing was priceless. The featured contestants were phenomenal..but 50 dollars? In today's standards that might be a thousand which sings the canaries tune of cheap cheap cheap.
Well, you have stirred me to my soul . . . and I am fighting rushing off to a 7/11 convenience store to buy a Twinkie! Add to all your almost tactile memories the fact I stayed outdoors to play until the sun came down without a care in the world, rode in my father’s big Buick with no seat belt, watched Ed Sullivan every Sunday night with my parents . . . I’d say our generation experienced one of the best decades imaginable. Thanks for reminding me of that!
OMG Roy. I love this list! Although a little younger than you and my husband, I remember a good part of it being at the tail end of the baby boomers and the youngest of 5 kids - i.e., I had to watch and listen to what they did. Hostess Twinkies - yes, please! One of my sisters just came back from a Memory Lane trip to our hometown outside of Boston. She took a millions pictures and on our siblings Whatsapp we were 'shouting' back and forth memories at each location she shared on her journey. It is such fun. Thanks for bringing it up. And please don't forget the gravy on the mashed potatoes served with the hot open face turkey sandwich. That must've been a fancy school you went to - we got square pizza on Fridays.
Wonderful memories Roy. Made me smile while reading. As a Philly girl, we had Popeye Theater with Sally Star (who lived near us). Chief Halftown, Happy the Clown, who magically pulled a fish from under my coat. Can’t forget Shari Lewis & her hand puppet, Lambchop. And last but not least American Bandstand, where so many singers got their start.
One more, catching lightning bugs while getting eaten by mosquitoes.
Nice... Those bring back memories for sure...
Happy Memorial Day. Remember those that gave the ultimate sacrifice. It's one of the reasons you have the memories you do. Freedom is not free...
Wow! That's quite a list - I'll bet that took some time. I'll have to do mine someday...

Ronnie- Great stuff as per usual. I believe the reruns are still on Prime. Hope you are feeling well.
Great read. Tops on my list would be Combat with Vic Morrow.

Indeed we did!
Great list. I can remember most of the list except your local stuff.
I probably can add another 60. Great weekend. Enjoy. Go VGK.
Growing up in the Bronx - playing stickball and touch football on the street was the best
Not sure they are playing on the streets anymore.
Great memories.

Jill- There was so much gravy on the sandwich you couldn’t see how little turkey there really was!

Life was simpler❤️
We can relate to almost every one. Tim still insists on reruns of Mayberry so still seeing Helen Crump frequently.
Helen Crump everyday? Oh my!
Excellent list … but it had to be “Bits and Pieces.”
Top of the DC5 list!
Great memory. Boy you are old!
Following your lead.
That’s a lot of memories. I can relate. You forgot Carusos, Gam Wah and Meadowbrook movie theatre. lol
Ms Fran. I covered Meadowbrook Theater with Jahn’s. As far as Caruso’s- only if Borelli’s had a gas leak in the kitchen~
Thanks for the memory.
