Happy Anniversary Roy & Andi!! Andi must be a saint. Amazing recovery from heart surgery so you could go play baseball. You looked like a pro out there. You are a very inspiring guy. Glad Andi took charge that day. Stay with us. ❤️
Your story is truly amazing. I do hope you don’t have nightmares of Catheter Holly! As far as you not having a heart or personality, I do disagree. I think you have a wonderful heart. You just don’t show it too much!! And you are Temple Sinai’s resident stand up comedian!! I’m so happy that you are on the other side of that surgery. The video of you at bat so soon after the surgery was inspiring. Please tell Andi that her SMC article was terrific. You better watch out, she might take over!! Much Love to you both.
Congrats on the anniversary! I have been married for some 47 years, but I wore out four women to get there. The kid's mom and I were together 18 years, the ten with number two and ten with number three, and now seven with the current and last Mrs. Steele who has a hyphenated name since we married late in life and chose to keep her former married name since it would be a horror story to change everything from driver's license, credit cards, etc.
Now for the good part and one in which I can empathize with your HEART. In December 2022 I had a heart cath procedure which nearly cost my life. The procedure went bad when my femoral artery was pierced during the procedure. They sent me home telling me all was well, and I did not need a stent. Nearly 48 hours later I experience the most horrific pain, and EMS was summoned, I was taken to Sarasota Memorial based on the surgeon's recommendation. The ambulance ride was long and bumpy, and I was moaning like a $2.00 whore (excuse the language).
The scene at the hospital was like an episode on Greys Anatomy with a full staff of providers waiting on me to arrive. I was wheeled into an exam room and a series of ultrasound scans which revealed massive internal bleeding. The diagnosis was immediate emergency surgery to close the artery which had been nicked. Doctor Herschberger literally saved my life and for that I am eternally grateful.
As a side note the offending surgeon's office contacted me a couple of days later for a follow-up and I told the PA what happened, immediately fired them over the phone and hung up. End of story. Let's play two!!
Happiest of Anniversary to you both, much to celebrate and be grateful for. As former Open heart/Cardiac Rehab nurse in another life I can see the whole chain of events unfold.
Wonderful positive attitude both of you and inspiring example to everyone
Congratulations on your anniversary! This was an uplifting story of determination and courage. It's an amazing thing to relay surgical information to others with the same diagnosis. I'm proud of sharing dialysis and transplant stories with those just beginning the journey. I never dreamed calcification could be so evil! You've done just great boss!
Congratulations to you and Andi on your 34th anniversary. I now realize I share my birthday with Davy Crocket and your wedding anniversary. Here’s to many more for each of us.

Thanks Ms. Linda- appreciate almost all the words except for Andi’s SMC writing. That’s all I’ve been hearing and I will not tell her!
Happy Anniversary to you and Andi. Incredible story.
Great substitute blog by Andi. She certainly has your skills and humor. Are you sure she’s not your sister?
Whenever you drive east on Desert Inn, as you reach the strip, that portion is called the superarterial. Remember that.
Thanks Roy....now I don't know whether to be more concerned about heart surgery or catheter removals!
Randy- hands down the catheter.

"Deuce kept a close EYE on me." Is this some sort of pun?????????
Only very few would catch that. Well played!
